Overview

The content in FireControl is divided into two parts: Content Types and Pages. Content Type records contain reoccurring content (e.g., News, Events) or dynamic content (e.g., Products, Properties) whereas a Page’s content is generally static.

To manage the records in a Content Type click the name of the Content Type in the “Manage Content” dropdown navigation at the top of the page.

Adding Content

To add new content, click on the name of the content type (e.g., News Article) you wish to add in the “Manage Content” dropdown navigation at the top of the page. Then click the “Add new content record” at the top of the Content Manager page.

Fill out the form fields (fields marked with an asterisk are required) with the information for the new content record then click “Submit” to add the new content.

Note: If the “Off” option for the Display field is selected the new content record will NOT be shown until it is turned to “On”. This feature is included to allow Site Managers to review new content before it goes live on the site.

Editing Content

To edit a record, click on the name of the content type (e.g., News Article) you wish to edit in the “Manage Content” dropdown navigation at the top of the page. Click the edit button Edit Icon next to the record that you would like to edit. Make necessary changes to the content record then hit the “Submit” button.

Deleting Content

To delete a record, click the name of the content type (e.g., News Article) you wish to delete in the “Manage Content” dropdown navigation at the top of the page. Click the delete button Delete Icon next to the record that you would like to delete. Please ensure that the record you have selected is the correct record. If the record you selected is NOT the correct record hit the back button on your web browser to return to the previous screen. Otherwise press the “Delete” button to delete the record.

Checking the checkbox next to the records in a Content Type and clicking the “Delete Checked Records” button will delete multiple records.

Note: The deletion process CANNOT BE UNDONE.

Sorting Content

By default FireControl sorts content alphabetically by the content’s title. To make finding and editing content records easier you can resort content via the title, category, date created, date modified, and status attributes. Additional sort fields can be added on per content or per site basis.

To resort content, click the attribute link at the top of the page to sort by that attribute.
